Skate n Bake Sesh in San Diego 10/14/17

Harsh California summer sun beating down on the tarmac, the sound of plastic wheels grinding against the asphalt. A wooden ramp was set on the edges of the parking lot, and skaters dorned with their respective logos and brands line up to compete and smoke in a skate-off for Skate N Bake San Diego. Local cannabis vendors and artists were setting up their tents, bringing out glass showcasings and “Free Sample” signs.

The San Diego cannabis community is a tight-knit and welcoming group. Hugs and shirts were being passed around as noon was starting to hit, waiting for the patients to try all the deals that were being prepared. The smell of grilled BBQ kabobs mixed in the air with the smell of burning joints. Inside the building, amidst the already hot-boxed auditorium, a DJ and a Nintendo Station were on stage for “Stoned Street Fighter” presented by @instastonedgamer.

The music was bumped up and the number of blunts in the air couldn’t be counted. The Brass Monkey booth was luckily set up with misters to beat the heat. Consumers lined up for dabs as they watched several skaters coast between each other in the lot. Chilling and sharing blunts, patients were watching the skaters contend in the competition. Laughter and kabobs were a-plenty, with @Upskewerz2017 providing the fresh grilled over mesquite fire food.

Brass Monkey took home First Place Highest Potency for our Lemon Cake Shatter, and First Place People’s choice for our Bay Dream Live Resin! Many thanks and love to our Canna-family and the San Diego cannabis community.
